Amendments to the Definition, Qualification and Classification of SMEs
Summary:The Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Definition, Qualifications and Classification of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises was put into force by the Presidential Decree numbered 5315 published in the Official Gazette dated 18/03/2022 and numbered 31782.
The amendments made to the said Regulation are as follows:
- The annual net sales revenue or financial balance sheet size limit for businesses employing less than two hundred and fifty employees to be considered SMEs was increased from one hundred and twenty-five million TL to two hundred and fifty million TL.
- Enterprises with less than ten employees and annual net sales revenue or financial balance sheet size of up to five million TL will be considered Micro Enterprises (previous limit was three million TL).
- Enterprises employing fewer than fifty people and with annual net sales revenue or financial balance sheet size of up to fifty million TL will be considered Small Enterprises (previous limit was twenty-five million TL).
- Enterprises employing less than two hundred and fifty people and with annual net sales revenue or financial balance sheet size of up to two hundred and fifty million TL will be considered Medium-Sized Enterprises (previous limit was one hundred and twenty-five million TL).
