“FX Position Reporting Obligation Postponed for Firms Over TRY 50 Million (January 2024 Period)”

In the letter sent by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) to the general directorates of banks on 02.07.2023, the following statements were made:

In the letter dated 12.04.2023 and numbered 731, some facilities were introduced in the practice, and changes were made in the scope and duration of the summary foreign exchange position reporting. The reporting obligation for firms with a total credit balance between 10 million TL and 50 million TL was postponed until January 2024, and for firms with a total credit balance of 50 million TL and above, it was extended until 30 June 2023.

As a result of additional evaluations regarding the reporting process, TCMB has decided to extend the reporting obligation to include all firms with a credit balance of 50 million TL or more, starting from the January 2024 reporting period.
