Ministry of Industry and Technology Determined the Nature of IT Personnel.
According to the Presidential Decree No. 7103, published in the Official Gazette No. 32169 on 20/04/2023, it has been decided that the income tax withholding incentive will be fully applied (100%) for the period between 01/04/2023 and 31/12/2023 for employees working in technology development zones, R&D, and design centers who are engaged in activities defined by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. These employees will be those working outside of the region/center.
In this context, the Ministry of Industry and Technology has defined the nature of information technology personnel as follows:
“Graduates of four-year faculties in computer science, electronics, or software-related departments, or those from foreign higher education institutions recognized by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) as equivalent, as well as graduates of other faculties, vocational schools, and high schools working in areas related to software, design (chip design, system design, hardware architecture design, etc.), analysis, network connections, or related fields such as testing, maintenance in technology development zones and R&D and design centers.”
