Turkey’s Central Bank Has Imposed a Reporting Obligation for Legal Entities with a Credit Balance of 5 Million TL or More at Banks, Requiring a Summary Foreign Exchange Position Report.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey has sent an informational letter dated 20.03.2023, with reference number E-TCMB.80372040-010.07.01-589, titled “Foreign Exchange Position Reporting for Legal Entities” to the general directorates of banks.
According to the letter, legal entity firms operating within Turkey, whose total cash and non-cash credit balance with domestic banks is 5 million TL or more, are required to submit their foreign exchange position reports to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey through the “Summary Foreign Exchange Position Report” link created at https://tcmbveri.gov.tr within the first 10 business days of the month following the month in which they have a credit balance.
The first report will be submitted for the March 2023 period, and the reporting should be completed within the first 10 business days of April.
