Change Regarding Time Spent Outside Technology Development Zones and R&D and Design Centers

The 7440 Law on the Restructuring of Some Receivables and Amendments to Certain Laws, published in the Official Gazette dated 12.03.2023 and numbered 32130, has made the following changes:

– In Article 18, the phrase “seventy-five percent in regional and/or sectoral areas” in the third paragraph of Article 2 of the Technology Development Zones Law No. 4691 is amended to “one hundred percent in regional and/or sectoral areas or by professional groups.”

– In Article 22, the phrase “seventy-five percent in regional and/or sectoral areas” in the second paragraph of Article 3 of the Law on the Support of Research, Development, and Design Activities No. 5746 is amended to “one hundred percent in regional and/or sectoral areas or by professional groups.”

With this change, personnel working in Technology Development Zones and R&D and Design Centers will be authorized by the President to benefit from the incentive program if they spend up to one hundred percent of their work outside these regions and centers. Currently, this rate is applied as seventy-five percent, but with the utilization of the authority granted to the President, personnel covered by the incentive program will be able to spend up to one hundred percent of their work outside the regions and centers.
