Xiaomi Turkey Factory Starts Production
The China-based technology company Xiaomi’s Turkey factory opened on March 29th. The factory, opened in collaboration with Xiaomi’s partner Salcomp in Avcılar, Istanbul, has a production capacity of 5 million smartphones and will provide employment for 2,000 people.
The Xiaomi Turkey factory will be the company’s fourth factory worldwide, following its factories in China, India, and Indonesia.
Xiaomi Aims to Be the Leading Smartphone Brand in Turkey
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Xiaomi Turkey Country Manager Vincent Chang stated that they aim to be the leading smartphone brand in Turkey in both market share and customer satisfaction. He also mentioned, “We aim to increase the number of our Mi Stores to 100 in order to deliver all our services to every corner of Turkey,” he said.
In the same ceremony, Salcomp Senior Vice President Travel Xue also commented, “As a result of our years of global expertise, we believe we will achieve great success in Turkey. Xiaomi’s journey in Turkey as the leading phone brand will continue with new investments without slowing down,” he stated.
